the Forgotten War

The Korean War began in 1950 when Communist North Korea invaded South Korea. A shocked world responded to the leadership of the United States who headed a United Nations force sent to repel the aggressors. A nation still weary from World War II sent its young men to fight and die in a foreign land to defend other people's freedom. Bland County boys once again did their part.
