Bland

Bland is situated in the valley that lies between Big Walker and Brushy Mountain and is the largest community in Bland County.

The town of Bland was originally called Crab Orchard after the stream that meanders through the community. Later, it was named Seddon after James Alexander Seddon. In 1864 when it became the county seat of government it was renamed Bland after Richard Bland, a Virginia Revolutionary figure.
